Sculpin Grapefruit IPA

Ballast Point Brewing (San Diego, CA)
"Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer."

I tried this on tap at the local alehouse and was not impressed. Being a big fan of regular Sculpin I had to try it again. Glad I did.
The fruitiness lives mostly in the aroma which has a vague hint of citrus. The flavor is pleasantly bitter with a very faint citrus pucker at the finish. Very good but I much prefer the regular Sculpin.
